I haven't been responding to duplicated messages as I was trying to thoughtful and not clog up buyers inbox's when we were able to resolve the concern / question in one of the duplicated messages. This rating system caught me by surprise this morning.Īs a shop that processes many orders a month, according to the rating system, I did qualify for the Shipping and 5 Star rating percentage at higher than the 95% needed. I rarely respond in the forums but I found something interesting. Yet more proof that Etsy doesn't care about it's sellers - and we are their customers, paying all our listing and payment processing fees to them, and being forced to pay commission on offsite ads. so I'm losing income already, and now Etsy want me to jump through hoops to get a badge that will penalise my business if I can't get it - " At this time, Star Seller does not impact your search ranking" means it will do soon.Īnd we all know that some buyers just don't ever leave 5 stars on their reviews. and having to refund a few customers in US and South Africa recently because their orders didn't arrive as quickly as they wanted, one took out a case (and then said they never got the refund and they still wanted the item!) and the other wasn't willing to wait any longer even though I explained Covid-19 has caused some delays. I stopped shipping abroad due to having to use Etsy's labels to send to EU countries because for some reason I can't just add the IOSS number to the customs form with a pen. ![]() I don't want to charge my customers and extra £1 to send signed-for, for items under £15, and with the 'free' UK shipping Etsy pressured me into doing, it wouldn't really be the item that's over £10 anyway, as I had to add in the shipping cost to cover that. well I post everything ASAP (sometimes within an hour of the order coming through, and always within 48 hous) but I've got "67 orders missing tracking info" - well yes they would be because I only post orders over £15 Signed-for and I go to my local post office to do that. The criteria is Dispatch: Buyers are more likely to come back and shop from a seller that dispatches orders on time than sellers who dispatch late. This is ridiculous! 36% on the dispatch & tracking nonsense. I'm off for a cup of tea and a raid of the biscuit jar. Perhap Star Seller Status should be awarded to those who embrace the ethos of Etsy and not resell from sites like Aliexpress etc. The people who actually make things, create things, sell hand made, sell quality supplies. My apologies if this all seems like a bit of a rant, but in these very challenging times Etsy needs to take care of their core sellers. By which time I have proof of postage from my local post office. Their income depends on their sales!! They receive next to nothing for accepting a bag of mail with pre purchased postage.I post in the mornings, but sometimes can't get online until the evening to mark as dispatched. My local post office is tiny and it will close if it can't be supported. So how can Etsy rank on this? The ranking is for postage purchased via Etsy. I buy my postage directly from the UK post office and tracking is not standard within the UK. I had previously had several email exchanges with the buyer, who has left a 5 star review. a Thank you, telling me a custom order had arrived having been shipped to the US. The one message I didn't answer was simply a reply from a buyer. I have been ranked at 88% for responsing to messages, despite answering every single one as quickly as possible.Īpparently in my last 17 messages, I answered them all within 24 hours except one. This has not been well thought out and despite aiming to provide excellent customer service, there is no way on God's Earth I can achieve this. I've just noticed the new Star Seller Programme. ![]()
